Low Level Bridge

The Woodhouse Road low level bridge is shortly after Highway Rapid. Paddling over Low Level Bridge can only be safely attempted when the Duzi River is flowing strongly over the top. Good speed is recommended and approach the crossing from the right bank. Aim to cross the bridge at right angles to the bridge. This means facing slightly towards the left bank as you cross the bridge, as Low Level crosses the Duzi at an angle.

If there is not enough water to paddle over the top, this bridge becomes a death trap. Get out way upstream on the left to avoid being sucked under the bridge, where you could become entrapped.

Never ever paddle up to any low level bridge or causeway with the intention of getting out on the upstream side of the bridge.
